GIFT BOX TO STAND AT LANE’S END

Grade 1 winning millionaire Gift Box has been retired from racing and will begin his new career as a stallion at Lane’s End starting in 2021. The colt retires as a Grade-1 and three-time graded stakes winner with a record of 18-6-6-2 from the ages of two to six. In 2019, Gift Box was among the leading older horses in America after a string of graded stakes performances that included a Grade 1 victory in the Santa Anita Handicap. He retires as the highest earning colt by his leading sixth-crop sire Twirling Candy.

HONOR CODE: A GRADE 1 LEADER AMONG SECOND-CROP SIRES

In what is a standout generation of second-crop sires, just three stallions have sired multiple Grade-1 horses including dual Grade-1 winning Honor Code as well as Liam’s Map and Constitution. Honor Code along with Constitution, Liam's Map and Mr Speaker (the latter two also Lane’s End stallions) have taken their legacy a step further to sire a Grade-1 winner in 2020. One of these Grade-1 winners by Honor Code is the newest member of the Lane’s End stallion roster, Honor A. P., who was his sire’s highest-earning son and most expensive yearling from his first crop.

GRADE 1 WINNER HONOR A. P. RETIRED

Lane’s End farm announced today that Honor A. P. will retire from racing and stand the 2021 season at their Versailles farm. The three-year-old colt retires as a Grade 1 winner and the top earner of his leading second-crop sire Honor Code.
In his most recent start, Honor A. P. dealt with an unlucky trip to finish a quickening fourth in the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby, posting a 99 Beyer and traveling an incredible 49 more feet than the winner Authentic. This in turn means that the colt ran the fastest race of the field when accounting for ground loss.

After missing some time with a foot bruise earlier this year, the handsome dark bay made his belated sophomore debut in the GII San Felipe S. Mar. 7, and ran a big one in defeat after making a strong middle move to chase home loose-on-lead wire-to-wire winner Authentic (Into Mischief).
