LANE’S END TO SELL QUALITY ROAD HALF-BROTHER TO GRADE-3 WINNER
Sat, 07/25/2020 - 19:27
Lane’s End will be selling a Quality Road yearling half-brother to Turned Aside, winner of the Quick Call S. (G3) at Saratoga. The half-brother is out of the graded stakes-placed War Front mare Sustained.
Turned Aside is a Paul Pompa homebred by American Pharoah. Previously a listed stakes-placed runner, the colt’s next start was his Grade-3 victory, winning by 1 ¾ lengths.
With 11 Grade 1 winners from his first 6 crops, Quality Road has certainly earned his spot among the most successful sires in North America. The son of Elusive Quality joined an elite group of stallions in 2018 when he sired two separate Eclipse Champions in the same year—Kentucky Oaks victress Abel Tasman and Caledonia Road, who captured the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Hip 422 is selling in Book 1 at Keeneland September. He will be available for inspection leading up to his sale date on September 14th.
