A stakes winner over grade one winning competition, Street Surrender is offered carrying her first foal, who will also be member of the first crop of Horse of the Year Gun Runner.
A six time winner, Street Surrender went wire-to-wire to capture the Southern Truce Stakes at Santa Anita by 1¾ lengths from grade one winner Nickname. She was also a maiden special weight and allowance winner – by four lengths – at six furlongs, and won three consecutive races in allowance competition at a mile and 8 ½ furlongs, owning the lead at every call in two of them. Street Surrender also earned seconds in two other stakes events, missing by a ¾ lengths, in the Golden Poppy Stakes, while defeating My Heart Goes On, Qiaona, Dreamarcher and Peach Cove, and taking runner-up spot behind multiple grade one placed Faithfully in the Santa Lucia Stakes, ahead of grade three winner Coppa.
Street Boss, the sire of Street Surrender is a multiple grade one winning sprinter who is the fastest son of World Champion Racehorse and outstanding sire, Street Cry. Street Boss is sire of such as Kentucky Oaks (G1) victress, Cathryn Sophia; the King’s Bishop Stakes (G1) winner Capo Bastone; Danza, an Arkansas Derby (G1) captor who was a fast closing third in the Kentucky Derby (G1); American Oaks (G1) victress Decked Out; The Quarterback, successful in the Newmarket Handicap (G1), one of Australia’s most important sprints; and Hong Kong Horse of the Year Rapper Dragon.
Street Surrender is half-sister to the multiple stakes winning Golden Country, and to graded stakes placed Condor de Oro. Her dam, Sweet Sierra, is a sister to Liberty Gold, winner of the Aqueduct Handicap (G3), and five times graded stakes placed, including third in the Metropolitan Handicap (G1). She is also a half-sister to Latour, winner of the Davona Dale Stakes (G2), and multiple graded placed, including a third in the Ashland Stakes (G1).
Street Surrender’s granddam, Restless Colony won three black-type events, and is a half-sister to stakes placed Full Song, the dam of stakes winner Wisa, and third dam of multiple stakes winner, Frank The Barber. The second dam of Restless Colony, the San Clemente Stakes captress, Loved, is ancestress of 20 stakse winners, including graded one winners Smokin’ Joe and Taj Quillo, and graded winner Our Smoking Joe.
Sweet Surrender is offered carrying her first foal, who will also be a member of the first crop by Horse the Year Gun Runner. This wonderful son of leading sire Candy Ride, earned almost $16,000,000, his triumphs including the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), Pegasus World Cup (G1), Whitney Stakes (G1), Stephen Foster Handicap (G1) and Clark Handicap (G1).
